They are two distinct processing methods.So how are they different? Let's have a look?

First: By different meanings

Forging is the use of hammering and other methods, so that the metal material in the plastic state into a workpiece with a certain shape and size, and change its physical properties.

Casting is a process in which the metal is melted into liquid and poured into the mold. After cooling, solidification and cleaning, the desired shape of the casting is obtained. It can be made into complex shapes of all kinds of objects.

Second: By different production process

Forging is a kind of machining method that uses forging machinery to exert pressure on metal billet to produce plastic deformation to obtain forgings with certain mechanical properties, certain shape and size. It is one of the two major components of forging.

Casting is a method in which liquid metal is cast into a casting cavity that is suitable for the shape of the part, and then the liquid metal is cooled and solidified to obtain the part or blank.

In general, forging and casting are very different, mainly reflected in the meaning and the production process. They are two completely different processing methods.
