How to improve the surface roughness in precision machining parts?

1. Cutting amount
The higher the feed amount, the higher the residual area height and the rougher the part surface. Therefore, reducing the feed amount can effectively reduce the surface roughness value.

Cutting speed also has a great influence on the surface roughness. In the medium speed cutting elastic material, due to the easy to produce the accumulation of chips, and plastic deformation is larger, so the surface roughness of the processed parts is larger. 2. Tool geometry parameters
In precision parts machining, the main offset angle, sub-offset angle and tool tip radius have a direct impact on the surface roughness of the part. In the case of a certain amount of feed, reducing the main and sub-deflection angles or increasing the radius of the tool tip arc can reduce the surface roughness value. In addition, appropriately increasing the front and rear angles can reduce the cutting deformation and friction between the front and rear tool faces, and inhibit the generation of tumor chips, which can also reduce the surface roughness value.
